George has been helping clients grow, manage, and understand the benefits and complexities of building wealth over 30 years. This process is multifaceted and can seem baffling. The economy, tax laws, and our life situations change frequently, and sometimes drastically. His goal is to help educate clients so they can make good choices as they navigate all the aspects of developing and keeping that wealth. George has worked in various capacities over the years, as a financial planner, insurance professional, and investment manager, in various settings including a low-cost brokerage firm, a bank trust department, and with several registered investment advisors. Most recently, he was a portfolio manager with Barnett & Company, Investment Counsel. It has been his good fortune to have his avocation and occupation dovetail, and he is grateful to those people with whom he has had the privileged to serve.
George is a native of Spartanburg, SC and a graduate of Wofford College with a B.S. in Economics. He received his CERTIFIED FINANCIAL PLANNER™ designation in 1995. When not working or thinking about clients, George dabbles in travel with Mary Ann, his wife of over 35 years, enjoys photography and science.
